Hey Guys:

Name is Rob and I am a moderator for one of the very popular Mustang sites called Mustangworld.com and also a moderator for Eastcoaststang.com

Picked up my second edition from the Ford dealer yesterday...just stopped into see what was up and took an offer I could not refuse on an 05 XLT. Has 21,000 on the clock and is fully loaded. Walked out the door with it for 18K. Nice truck to say the least...will work out well for the wife etc.

Now how the hell do I make this thing faster...muahahaha :D

Everything is still stock all the way down to the filter. Recommend anything other then a K&N Panel Filter? Anyone make a fenderwell kit for this thing? I need all the recommendations I can take....

Thanks Dudes...

how much faster you looking to make it go? i doubt you'd really feel any difference with a K&N or exhaust mods. If your looking for fast i'd suggest nitrous :)

chip exaust intake etc....

I am just looking for little stuff

but like what...

I have noticed K&N only makes a panel filter and nothing along the lines of a fenderwell intake. I could make my own but I would rather not if I don't have to.

As for exhaust what do you guys recommend? Just replacing the muffler. That thing is huge, it has to be at least 25" in size

Also, for a fenderwell Cold Air Intake, will the PCM take it or will it have to be tuned?

The PCM will be fine. I noticed a decent improvement with my MAC intake. Next up for me is a 2.5" catback with a flowmaster 50 or 70 series or Dynomax super turbo. That should definitely compliment the intake well. Its never gonna be fast though. I guess if your really desperate to get more power, you could put in synthetic fluids in the engine, tranny & transfer case, to help you get a little more power to the ground. Good luck.

Edit: Just take it to an exhaust shop and have them weld up a higher flowing muffler.

Can't find a intake for an 05 4.0L :(
