Need technical name or part number for this item...

What is the technical name or part number for the missing black plastic (?) cone....(this is where the pushrods sit...)

Does anyone have one lying around that I can acquire? All I need is one. Or can I buy this locally?

Please advise.

I think thats part of the lifters and, I dont think you can buy them seperately.

The little black piece snaps on. If it isn't sold separately is there a part number for the lifter?

Bottom line, is it really necessary to have that plastic piece. I just pulled the heads on this 80k mile motor and the plastic piece was missing but the rods were all fine...

My guess would be that the plastic cup would serve as an alignment guide when the rods are inserted before you put the rocker arms on and to keep the rod in the seat while the rocker arms are being torqued down. That's a small target to hit with the rod. Somebody's got to have one somewhere.

Make sure you get the rocker arms, rods and lifters back in the same place they came from.
