Need your opinions, Is this too overboard?

Hey thanks alot for the input guys. So I guess I'm gonna keep the setup for a while. I just need to find a way to mount the bar higher so it look better with my body lift. And looks like I need to go order some more HIDs. I was thinking a 3000k yellow since everything else is 6000k.
As far as the offroading goes I usually take it off before I hit the trails. Its only 4 bolts so its not super difficult to remove and replace with tow hooks. Plus the hooks and bar both use a 3/4 socket so I don't even need to swap sockets!

So next question:
3000k yellow HIDs or stay with 6000k HIDs??

Actually, you might be able to run both.

If you remove the airdam from underneath the front bumper it should expose the open end of the frame rails.

Can't you insert the bull bar mounting brackets INSIDE the frame via the open end? then you can place the tow hooks underneath the frame and run bolts up through the tow hooks and bull bar mounting brackets.

This is what I am going to do with my brush guard this weekend when I install my 3" body lift. It only works with a 3" body lift because at stock body height the ends of the frame rails are covered.

Well initially I thought I was going to be able to flip the mounting brackets upside down so the bar would even with the frame but I found out the bull bar is actually wider than the frame. The mounts are also offset so when I flipped them, they werent close to being wide enough. So I'm just gonna fab up some new mounts and then be able run the bar and hooks with a few longer bolts!

I would say 3000k i have them in my fogs and they give a nice contrast mixed with other hids and are awesome in the fog, I think they look cool when you have those on and your running lights.

And Can you mount or weld those tow hooks to the bull bar?

FINALLY!!!! Do I even need to say what I think????

I LOVE IT, FUGGING KEEP IT ON, IT LOOKS SWEEEEEEEEET!!! (and now complete:D)

Edit- Yellow fogs would look good.

Hey guys, havent posted much recently, been on vacation and trying to catch back up at work.

I got around to putting my bull bar back on, but now I think its a little too excessive with the lights. I was even contemplating getting more Hellas for it at one point but I doubt I will go that route. So I was hoping to get some input whether to keep the bar or throw the tow hooks back on. I know my EF peeps wont let me down!

Heres with the bull bar:

SO, keep it or toss it??

Keep. You can never have too many lights!

One day..... My ex will look that badass. :notworthy

I say sell the bullbar and buy a brush guard with towhooks. Two birds, one awesome stone. Problem solved.

x2 man
gotta love the brushguard

It looks like crap. You should take it off and give it to me for proper disposal. ;)

Just kidding. I think keeping it is the right choice & go for the 3000k yellows. Never know when you might get some glare from all those lights. :D

Welp sounds like I'm gonna be keeping the bull bar. Looks like I'll be ordering some yellow HIDs next paycheck!!

Thanks for all the input guys!

Keep the bull bar, it completes the look.

i think the bar needs to be bigger and add lights to it. thats a sweet truck.

Better late then never... I think it's perfect the way it sits...Very nice X.

I hate to say it, but this summer (i have a seasonal business), I'm probably going to mimic your expo... I think yours is the best looking one on here at the moment.

just my opinion (and it is just mine. everyone has one and im no exception) but while this is a very nice truck. my fav on here is the 2 door 2nd gen with the blue flames. however this may be the best looking 4x4 on here.
