My buddies 2001 Ranger with a five speed automatic would not start in part. We put it in Neutral and it started just fine. After a bit more trouble shooting we determined that the neutral safety switch needed to be replaced. So we replaced the switch and it now starts fine in park. However, it does not crank in neutral. My questions are:
- My understanding is that you can start the Ranger in both Park and Neutral. Is that correct?
- Do you need to adjust the switch after you have installed it? I did not see any adjustment on the switch
Any input is appreciated.
