Never Field Test Anything

Last April (4/20 to be exact), I got in a head on collision with my 92 Buick Woody Wagon. I loved that car. :(The other drivers car was pretty messed up and I only had a bruised nose, I could have driven it home. Long story short my insurance said it would be best to write it off as a total and gave me a number of how much I should expect back. So I started shopping for a new car and ended up with Eleanor, my current ride. I had high hopes and dreams of going off roading, on the beach, in the woods anywhere. The guy assured me the 4WD and auto hubs worked. He hit the button, I heard the thump and assumed all was well. Did the paper work and she was mine. Drove her home the next night. On the way home, I went to fill her up for the first time and found the gas gauge wasn't working. So we called the guy, he never picked up his phone after that night so we should have known something was up. Regardless, I figured it'd give me something to do over spring break. So I did my research and decided to get a beach pass for county beaches which ran me ~120. The next day I was so excited to finally get to drive on the beach. It was perfect weather. I aired down, hit the 4WD button and hit the sand. 2 minutes later I hit a soft spot and stop DEAD. Some guys towed me out and I had enough momentum to go another little bit before I hit more soft sand. BAM! Dead again. A nice milf tried giving me a tow but my 2WD didn't help and I just dug myself in up too my bumper. At which time the beach patrol comes by and drags my ass out and twisting my bumper in the process. Then they got stuck trying to tow me. At this point I was looking at a 1500 AAA tow but they were nice enough to call in their beach tractor to haul my sorry ass back to solid ground. I was pissed as anything. On top of that, we found out that the girl's insurance didn't pay because the accident was my fault even though she blew a red light. The good news is the cops saved me a mad expensive tow and I got the pleasure of telling my parents I left the beach with a police escort.

Here's the big ass tractor they hauled my baby with. I kinda felt like a bad ass being escorted off the beach. haha

Sounds like you're auto-hubs aren't working, this is really common if they are never used (the grease gets hard and they wont work) take them off, spray a bunch of wd-40 in them and let them sit over night.. poke the moving parts around with a screwdriver or something (inside the hub) and put them back on with some new grease.. that may fix them

from that photo I at first thought you were driving in some snow. I haven't seen white sand in a long ass time. :(

Yeah, my autohubs were pretty gunked up. I ended up just going with manual hubs which I will never regret. Work every time. And yeah, Long Island beaches have some of the cleanest, whitest sand around.
