My 2000 Explorer is going to the junkyard and, although it still runs (Bad timing chain, tires, shocks, etc), it will fit right in.

We bought a 2002 Explorer for $1,700 with some issues and I am working to fix.

Already replaced DPFE and the front wheel bearing will be this week. The other issue I am trying to fix is the gear select indicator. It is not functioning and I am trying to find a DIY on how to fix.

I have a local junkyard that I frequent and will get the parts needed, just not sure what is needed.

Thanks for your help!

I have the new piece

Just need to know how to attach the line on column. I removed from junkyard car and wanted to see the instAll Instrictions

the current one is broken

the plastic is cracked (the black threaded piece) and broken off. I know there are prob some ziptie fixes, but the replacement part was all of $2 at the junkyard. I need to reconnect the loop and have not disconnected the current one. It should be easy to figure out, just need to remove the bottom of the steering column plastic cover.
