I would like to get it painted black I will either go flat to match new rims or will go with the same metalic black as the body color. Either way I would like to know if painting this would void my Ford warranty in any way.

I dont see why it would ask the dealership. Mine didnt say anything about it .

quick answer is no. painting the grill will not affect any other vehicle system warranty. Ford would have to show "modified" part had direct impact on failed item to deny warranty.

No

Well, it's actually a yes & no answer.

It would void the warranty only concerning the paint/finish on that factory parts you paint over. Everything else would be fine. The only other thing that could be voided is any part they claimed you damaged while removing/reinstalling the grille, but that would have to be proven.
