new a/c system

I am going to put a complete new a/c system in my 1998 xlt 4.0 sohc next week end . how much oil should be put in and were? should it all go in the compressor or should some go in the dryer and evaporator? My haynes manual tells you how to replace individual parts and replace the oil in them but I don't think they put a thought into a whole system replacement.

Most compressors come pre-filled with oil. The instructions will state whether an additional amount will be needed for the rest of the system. Too much oil is just as bad as too little, so be aware. imp
