new Blackjack pics

Thanks to Rick and all the moderators who make this such a fantastic site ;)

In case you're slow (or just don't want to read the entire thread) Blackjack was totaled by foreign POS mother #$@%er who didn't know how to yield on November 14, 2007. He rolled into a gas station parking lot and his body was crushed, but he saved my life in the process. In return for that, I've saved everything that I could scavenge so I can save HIS life. He has a CHP 347, rebuilt 4r70w with Baumann shift kit, Ford Racing BD-11 supercharger kit, and a RideTech parallel four link all waiting for installation :) Here's his original thread post:

Blackjack: Born February 16,1998 in Louisville, Ky. Rescued from Koons Chevy March 20-something, 2000 with 33,333 miles on the Odometer. Couldn't think of any good names and then I heard 'Blackjack' while listening to Brooks and Dunn's Boot Scootin' Boogie. He's been 'Jack' or "f#%^&$ pain in my @$$!" since then. His favorite hobbies are eating money and hunting Blazers, and he enjoys playing pranks (dropping hood on my head, chewing on his power steering rack, mystery squeaks, randomly starting himself up, etc).

All factory options, including 4.0 SOHC, limited slip diff, 4:10 gears, skidplates (on ExplornJ's truck now), sunroof, cass/cd player and changer, leather, blah blah.

Feh feh feh. Stupid internets X( I've been searching all morning but no luck. Does anyone know:

A) What a stock Explorer 4.0 SOHC Cologne motor weighs?

B) What a steel block 5.0 with aluminum heads weighs?

Need to know for my ride height calculations :p:

Not so well. I think Iz is sick of answering my idiot questions!

i told you not to worry about the 5 oh stuff, its going to be hiding in evil. but thanks to you, i now know how much the cargo area will droop on the ride home!

I don't think you could handle that 347 Tim, you should just swing by kansas with it and I'll trade you a stock 302 for it.

ooooooooooor, i can jam the 429 big block that i have for my 81 capri into evil. yes, i will also make it fit on way or another.

Well. It's been brought to my attention that I really need to update this thread, lol. On April 20, Chris and I bought our first house (my first, anyway--this is his second :p: ) and promptly consolidated all of our herd into one place finally.

Another huge thanks to SurrealNJ, without whom I doubt we would have gotten Blackjack moved. I wish we had pictures of the redneck towing job that we rigged.. basically Jay kept Jack in the box van and we strapped Frankenstein to the van bumper. I rode the brakes the whole way home, no power steering, no doors! It's a good thing the house is only a half a mile from the storage unit, lol.

Jack is now happily ensconced in his own corner...ironically just across from where we tore off his body. You might recognize the garage from earlier demolition pictures: it's the same one :)

I put the Systemax on the motor to make room for other parts, it looks pretty sexy:

Apparently I forgot to mention that I bought a rare Ford Racing Explorer supercharger kit a few years ago  This is what it looked like when I ordered it, but I don't like chrome so the owner of the store that I bought it from upgraded me to a BD-11a non-polished unit for no charge ;) It seems this kit had been sitting in their shop for a very long time since no one buys superchargers for Explorers  He gave me a really good deal on it, too!

Oh, and Skunk bought me one of these for Christmas :D I had 3/16th plates made to box the frame, too.

RideTech Parallel 4 Link

Sn0wborder88 offered to do the boxing and link welding but we couldn't get moved into the house before he had to ship off for his internship so it'll have to wait until he gets back. I want to get Jack's full weight on him before we attempt to locate the bars so I don't booger the suspension.

Now I just need to make more time to work on him!

GRAHHHHHH! I knew this was gonna come back to bite me in the ass! Does anyone have pictures of the left and/or right engine mount brackets actually attached to a v8?? I can't tell which bracket is for which side and I could glean only a partial part number from one of them :(

ooo....look at those shiney parts!!!! :p:

And now for the million dollar question...

Does anyone know of any companies that sell Explorer specific exterior engine bolt kits, preferably grade 8 or at least strengthened metal? I can find them for Mustang 302's (Gee, what a surprise) but the Stang accessories are totally different.
