If the bolt isnt already heat treated, then heat treating should help quite a bit. If the bolt is already heat treated but you still need greater performance out of it, you can kick it up another notch by cryogenic freezing. But the question is, which of the bolt warrants more strength? Because at that point, you may just as well drill and tap for a larger bolt diameter (if its possible) since bolt strength is square function as you increase bolt radius.

That picture is great, Tim! One more though, but only if Evil is still on the lift. Can you get a picture of the clearance between the starter and the oil pan? I'm beginning to wonder if the mini starter will even clear the kickout...

i can do that.....as long as i can figure out how to take it! lol. will get it for you tomorrow, or friday. ether way, a mini starter should fit in there. i can see ford moving the starter a hole lot. on a different note however, is a mini starer even going to work? ford has a weird end on a explorer one vs. the one thats on my capri.

Oooo... that last one is the only one that has me worried. There's definitely no way the stock y-pipe is going to clear my oil pan, but that's okay because I don't plan on using the stock one Looks like the stock starter might possibly clear the kick out, though.
