Found a 12 week old female catahoula leopard at the local dog rescue.

She's considered a blue leopard, due to her coloration. Until a few months ago, I didn't know this dog breed existed.

This dog is wicked smart. Already working on her soft mouth bite, she knows sit and stay, has had only a few misfires in the house.

The only bad thing is the fosters let her on the couch, and she's going to be too big when full grown for that, so we don't allow her on the couch.

First breed developed in North America.

Interesting read on the google--

He appears to be very smart, the forward triangle folded ears are the coolest!!

I thought I wanted a Great Dane next but the search just lengthened.

When I say this dog is smart, I mean it.

We are going to crate train her - google for that tidbit.

So, we bought the crate yesterday, set it up, and she walked right in to it and layed down.

Seriously. So, I've been throwing her toys in there, and just leaving the door open; tonight, she's sleeping in it now.

The plan is for to sleep in the main bath for the first two weeks here; looks like that is going to speed up..
