just ordered a new 4.0 ohv from jcwhitney block and heads complete... no the wait begins... any special procedures to break in the engine???? oils?

which oil?

you'll get as many diff. answers as replies - I like Castrol: reg, synthetic, blend, whatever, it's more important to check it and change it if you want the thing to last. I've never lost a motor or even needed a valve job and had 300-400K on my last 2 vehicles. I wait till it goes on sale at Autozone and stock up. I've seen people lose their motor in a new truck because they didn't think they needed to check the oil since it's new.
 






to break it in, I'd suggest using a synthetic blend and running it slowly but consistantly.(no abrupt rpm jumps) For 2,000 miles. Change the oil and filter and your ready to go.:thumbsup:

Oh, I'm guessing on milage, but this procedure is what I do with my MX bikes.
