With dark car feature enabled, did this disable the DRL and courtesy lighting?

With the menu enabled, did you get control of the dark car feature on the IPC?

I will take a look at some PIU configs a little later so I can figure out the changes on the 2017MY.

As a side note: I would really appreciate a copy of the as-built data from a DDM or PDM module on a 2017 if you have an adapter that can access the module.

I did not check the menu portion of it as I thought enabling dark mode through forscan would set the lights off from the get-go, when I opened the door and the lights were still on I just reverted the changes. I will make changes to all three either today or tomorrow when I get a chance and test it again.

I will send you a link via PM to the DDM and PDM originals that I backed up via forscan.

So I tried the following tonight:

Dark Car
Silent mode key 1-5

Those two successfully were written but I don't think they actually worked, I have "DRL" disabled from the IPC so I can't tell whether or not it worked that way.

Unless I'm confused, when I open the doors the lights on the ceiling should not turn on correct? When I open the door with accessory on or the engine turned on, the lights still turn on.

I tried to enable the Dark Car Menu Setting
0/1=Disabled, 4/5=Enabled (Does not work on Platinum IPC)

My original value was "0" on line "IPC 720-04-01" and it didn't matter whether I changed it to 4 or 5 it gave me the following error:

"Writing Blocks Failed - Incompatible Configuration".

Any ideas?

It sounds like something changed in the configuration in both the IPC and BCM for the 2017MY, the settings were probably moved to another location.

Oh and I forgot to ask, is there a fix to use nav features while moving? Im still not sure why they dont have have that linked to the passenger seat sensor. If it detects a person it should allow for use of the parked features.

You could easily put something on the passenger seat to simulate that it is occupied so that the driver can use the navigation while in motion.

Thank you for this! Just traded the 13xlt in for a 17 sport today. Excited to play around with it.
Congratulations on the new Explorer. Don't forget to update your profile.

There is nothing for NAV in motion for 17 yet.

Here is an a new change that was posted on F150F...

"Have the DRLs work like Audi DRLs when the blinker is on? So basically the drl turns off on the side that the blinker is on and then comes back on after the blinker turns off."

726-26-02 x..* xxxx xxxx
DRL Switchback w/Turn Signal: 0=disable, 1=enable

I have not tried this yet as I drive around with my DRL disabled but may give it a shot.

Well not yet. Deal might not go through. Fingers crossed.

IIRC, Audi's switchback is the accent light, which looks "ok", but on the F150 and Explorer, it would be the lowbeam and that would look odd.

Yeah, I don't see myself doing it as I agree with you but maybe it will help someone out.

I would also prefer to disable (or have a bit more control) over the accent lighting...I'm sure someone will find it in the future :P

Has anyone changed the navigation setting to allow inputs while driving, and if so, what features did you notice you lost, of any? I am considering doing this to my 2013 Edge. It drives my wife nuts that we have to stop, put it in park for her to enter a new address in the system.

Can you not use the voice control to do that? I have done it with mine before.

On a sync 2 system:

Line 28

You loose sirius traffic, but I never used that feature anyways.

What you are doing is essentially changing the country code to one that allows Navigation while in motion, yet they don't have sirius satelite traffic updates.

Thanks sheltonfilms. I will have to think about that one. The traffic feature helped us avoid a major issue while traveling back in the fall.

PIU have the accent light disabled.
Not sure the headlight assembly is different, or it was done via programming.

I think that is part of the "Dark Car" feature.
