How to: New Forscan Update Allows Module Programming

Prefix for threads which are instructional.
This is confirmed to work on the f-150 anyone wants to be guinea pig and try this for the explorer:

Remote start: In 726-19-01, change 0047 (disabled) to 0148 (enabled).

Remote start MENU option for a 2013 (per another post elsewhere): In 720-01-02, change EC0A to EF2A

What exactly changes are those enabling?

We know it works for the f-150, question is does it works for the explorer?

I just sold my 2014 with remote start or I'd check to see the settings.

I was looking at the F-150 settings spreadsheet to enable Remote Start (mentioned in previous posts) on my 2013 EX XLT and found that the BCM address/values are the same on the EX, however the IPC address has very different values on the EX. Has anyone made any progress enabling Remote Start? I think we're really close.

Thanks to @sheltonfilms for posting the screenshots of his FORScan dump!

Need to get as built data on an explorer with remote start.

or you can just try it an let us know what happens
Just suggesting if you check the as built, you'd know what the correct settings are for an explorer. If it'd work somebody, look in the mirror, would need to borrow or buy a key with remote start on it.

I used @sheltonfilms VIN (2013 LTD with Remote Start), pulled it's As-Built data and ran it through the As-Built compare tool (http://www.compulsivecode.com/Project_AsBuiltCompare.aspx). The tool is impressive in that it can deduce binary differences between As-Built data based on selected features. Unfortunately, the "perfect bits" that the tool identify are numerous, like way more than I would expect to simply enable a feature like Remote Start. Anyway, here's the result of the comparison: http://pastebin.com/hMQ5gav5

I am 99.99% sure that the change to BCM will enable remote start, the change to IPC not sure since this string is different from the f-150s but that may be just because their cluster is different, but there is a good chance this will work, this is required so remote start settings will show one the menu.

You need to get around 10-15 VINS of each with the option and without. When Jesse (Compulse) and I worked with his program to get Navigation bits that's how we had to do it. Best way is to go on autotrader and just keep grabbing VIN numbers from the list of vehicles.

Logic in his program was simple. Group cars with option, group cars without option. See which bits are the same within each group and then compare those to each group to see which ones are different. More VINs you plug in the better chance of narrowing down the correct bits to change.

I'm still doing the bit math on my end but am I correct in assuming (based on F-150 findings) that the only modules needing changes are the IPC and BCM? If I reduce the changes to just those two items, I'm left with the following:
Code:
IPC
720-01-01 bit 24 val 0

720-01-02 bit 4 val 1
720-01-02 bit 26 val 1
720-01-02 bit 39 val 1

720-01-03 bit 0 val 1
720-01-03 bit 1 val 1
720-01-03 bit 2 val 1
720-01-03 bit 3 val 1
720-01-03 bit 4 val 1

BCM
726-07-01 bit 6 val 1
726-07-01 bit 15 val 0

726-15-01 bit 15 val 0

726-17-01 bit 15 val 0

726-18-01 bit 7 val 0

726-19-01 bit 7 val 1

726-43-01 bit 6 val 1

726-46-01 bit 21 val 1
726-46-01 bit 22 val 0

There's definitely overlap with the F-150 changes.

And I've been meaning to ask. Can I test these changes on my EX without bricking it? For some reason I'm just terrified to experiment on my own vehicle (that I just bought!)

As long as you save your original file, FORSCAN will prompt you, you can restore it.

Plus you can always download your as built data from Motorcraft.com

Yeah, what he said.

Does Forscan work on the Interceptor Utility?

Can confirm that from the F-150 spreadsheet, in APIM this works fine on Explorer Limited 2017:

EDIT: It works on my '16 Platinum

For those that can't access DDM or PDM, you need an ELM327 that has a switch for the MS-CAN bus.

I did figure out how to enable concurrent fog/brights. 726-27-01 0100-0100-0157

Can you please explain what means enable concurrent fog/brights?
Thanks
