New guy with burnt valve

Hello, thank you for letting me join your forum. I have a 2004 Explorer with a 4.0 SOHC K engine that has a burnt valve in cylinder number 5. Anybody ever pulled a head off one of these engines and is there anything special I need to know before I dive off in to it?
