My radio started taking a crap the past couple weeks. Now the volume "lever" won't adjust and none of the buttons work. Could this be a fuse or is the radio shot?

If the radio is shot, how difficult is it to replace the head unit?

Head units are very easy to replace, but places like best buy and ultimate electronics do it for free:D

Yeah, but a buddy may have an old JVC hu ($20) I can have for use on the commute to work. Just wondering what all is involved in installing a hu?

Any unique harness or connector that I may need to purchase?

Thanks,
Jason

u will need a harness adatpter for it or either ull have to hard wire it but i will be better to jsut buy the adapter
u should be able to tget it from a place like best buy or an audio shop

peace

2 things you need. A dash kit. (makes your single DIN HU fit in the double DIN hole.) Wiring harness. (plugs into stock wiring so you don't have to cut any wires.) They cost $15 a piece here in Michigan. Don't know the price anywhere else. Shouldn't take more that 30-60 minutes to install, even if you have never done it before.

He's got a 91, it's a single din, not double. so just the harness for you NJAZ4.0XL :)

My bad, I didn't know that. Thanks for the correction.

In my '91, though, the stock radio wasn't DIN sized so I did need to make some slight dash modifications. Specifically I needed to make the hole a little bigger and then a "kit" came with a plate that made it blend in just fine. The work only took about five minutes with a dremel
