I have a really strange problem on a 98 ford explorer sohc v6 with the auto, 4h, 4l switch on the dash. New alternator, new battery. When the truck is cold it runs great. When the truck warms up there is a power drain on the amp gauge and the transfer case locks in the front wheels. It's clawing pavement. Let it cool for a while all is normal with 2wd. Warms up right back to front locked in. Should I do the brown wire mod ? Can it be done under the drivers seat or must it be done by the gem harness in the dash ? What a mess I can't take it far from home. Help. Thanks

Welcome aboard from a USMC "Glorified" Grunt.

I was going to point you to the 2nd Gen Sub Forum, but I see that you found it.

Good luck with the fix.
