hey, im new to this site but not to RBVs. I also have this username on TRS, FSB, and a moderator as Fordzilla on fr.net.
I have had 4 BIIs. (2) '89s and (2) '88s. (2) 86 rangers, and 88 Ranger, a 94 ranger, a 79 bronco, and a mazda b2600i
i just picked up my 4th b2 last week, this will be the resto project for the winter and the DD next summer. i bought it from the original owner, it got 80,000 miles, completely original, m5od 5spd and manual bw1354 tcase.
94 ranger, 3" body lift
87 mustang, 302 ho, 5spd, shorty headers
88 ranger, 3" body lift, 5spd
79 bronco, 33" m/ts
86 ranger (whats left is at the scrap yard)
my other life
another 86 ranger
and thats not even all of them.. wow im a ***** with rbvs! haha
anyways on to the question, heres the deal. i have an 89 BII with the D28, and a 94 ranger with a D35 hybrid. as far as i know the inner shafts on the d35 hybrid are just smaller to work in the d28 gears/carrier that the d35 hybrid has. so i was thinking, can i just swap the shafts around? so the B2 would have the d35 hybrid shafts with the original d28 diff and the ranger would have pretty much a complete d28. i know i would need to swap hubs too. and i know, why not just swap beams and all, but i want to keep this truck mobile and i would way rather swap just the shafts.
thanks in advance!
