Hi there,
I'm sorry to say I do not own an Explorer. The reason I joined this forum is because I have another FORD and am looking for information about an engine/ auto transplant.
I drive a European Ford Granada 2.6 V6.
Lovely drive, but engine is not the quickest and auto is getting tired (and it's a 3-speed).
So, in my explorations, I found that the cologne V6's should be interchangable. At least, the european 2.9 will bolt right in.
I'd rather have a 4.0, but most people tell me that it differs too much (longer, higher, wider).
Question: Is this a fact? Or am I right in saying that the only differce is that the headers are higher for the longer stroke? If the total engine is higher, that shouldn't be a problem.
I'll be browsing, but thanx in advance for your replies!
Best regards,
Martijn
