So I was looking for doors for the SHO today, and came home with these from the yard- ok tires (the popular Michelin LTX M/S standbys) a little drycracked, but the rims are really pretty clean. They're still 15's.

Thoughts?

I'm thinking about getting some good summer tires, and leaving the Coopers on the stock teardrops for winter because of the more aggressive tread.

that's a nice find!

i had the ltx before the bfg's and the michelins ride so ell as an all around tire.. they were quiet, rides straight and grips well enough when we had snow and ice.. the ones i had were pretty worn down and they still rode well..

looks good

 you sound like me, "ok, i am only going to get parts for the expl.... hey, i could use that for the ranger, and i have been looking for one of those for the capri!" LOL.

nice find, very nice. i didn't know you could put 15's on, i didn't think they would clear the calipers.

First Gen's were stock 15 inch rims. I don't think they went to 16's until Gen 3

i think in 95 they went to a disk in the back. not sure however. my 98 has steels on in, and they are 16's

Yep, I have 4 wheel disc, and the stock teardrops are 15's.

I think I may return them, I'm not sure I care for the front offset. I have too much tire outside the well. :(

My wife has told me no more junkyard trips until after our cruise. Last week I went to pickup a replacement strut spring for a friend and I bought 2 tires after talking myself out of a set of 33inch BFG all terrains which still had about 9/32'nds and steel 16 inch wheels for it all for $150! I should have bought them, but I would have paid for that move for months.

The 2 tires I did get have a little bit of dry crack, but I have put a couple coats of armor-all on them and it has softened the rubber up.

And those tires you got look pretty good, I'd stick with both the wheels and tires.

I took them back. They look fine from the side, from the front, 1/3 of the front tire was outside the well. For a bigger tire, that's one thing. For a stock size, nah.

If anyone wants them, they're at LKQ in Dorr/Wayland and should be $90 for the whole set this weekend...
