New Member, Hi! 2017 Interceptor Center Console?

I have had SO many Ford's in my life! My dad loved them, too.

I just bought an 2017 Explorer Interceptor PIU. I'm sure this has been asked, so please redirect if necessary.

I would like to put in a center console. Not some aftermarket "universal" POS, either. Any leads, or recommendations? Thank you for any help!

Welcome to the Forum.
You are correct. The question has been brought up many times. There are several threads on in the 2011-2019 5th gen Explorer sub-forum and also in the 2011-2019 Police Interceptor Utility sub-forum.
Go to Search at the top right of the screen and then click on Advanced search. Then on the next page select Search threads. Enter center console as the Keyword and then scroll down to the 2011-2019 5th gen or the 2011-2019 Police Interceptor sub-forum. Select one of them and then scroll down and select Display results as threads. Then click on Search.

I'd just go down to your local Ford dealer and have them pull it up in parts.

Other than that if you can find one in a junk yard you would just need to make sure that you get all the parts.

I read a post a few years ago about building one and the cost was prohibitive.

Peter, You are 100% correct that would be ridiculously expensive.

OP, I would find a retail console in a junkyard, on eBay etc and just swap the top panel to the PIU specific trim. It's what I did in mine. Some people don't mind the empty floor shifter hole that the retail console leaves and install a storage cubby.
I prefer the OEM look of the PIU top plate trim (no floor shifter hole) I have one for sale, if that's something you'd be interested in, but you'd need to locate and purchase the retail console assembly as-well.
