My 95 Explorer has a couple of problems..First, the idle is way up..about 1500. I have replaced the Idle Control Valve, with no luck. With the old valve on, either plugged in or unplugged, there is no change in the idle speed.
Second, my fuel gage does not work correctly. The previous owner says that it shows 1/4 tank more than it has. I have noticed that the fuel pump - not sure if that's what it's called - runs when I have the key in the accessory position. Is this related? The oil pressure gage also doesn't work. When the car is off, it shows low, when I start it, it pegs at the top.

Any help would be appreciated...and I am an rookie mechanic, so keep it simple!

Thanks,
Rich
