'99 North Face + '98 XLT
Hi,
I'm new to this forum, I thought I say Hallo and introduce myself or rather my Fords.
First is '98 I think standard explorer it has number plate on the middle of the boot, Lether, all electric. I don't know if thats whats called XLT or not.
I bought it for my girlfriend two weeks ago to replace her Suzuki Vitara 5 door auto. She wanted something bigger, so I thought I'll get the biggest so she will stop complaining that dogs don't fit. And when we got it, we were so impressed that I decided to sell my 2001 Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin VIVO auto,
And last week I got myself '99 North Face. Whats different is that it has,
Electric lower back regulator to seats, electric heated seats, 2 seats memories, wooden dash detail (plastic anyway), side steps( running boards),
Is whole charcoral green metalic( no chrome parts at all), and has alloy wheels instead of chrome.
The one downside is only price of insurance, she is new driver (licence for two months) so I had to be main driver and she is the second one otherwise they would not insured it at all, and is still £1260 a year!!!
On my one with 3y NCB is only £660/year so thats cool.
Not bad on petrol I get 15MPG at the moment( only 1 tank used as yet),
but I was very heavy on accelerator, so thats the same as 2L Pinin when you drive it hard.
She is getting 22MPG of her but she is gentle driver(as yet).
We are very happy with our explorers, and more happy that I found this forum, suprised how popular it is even here in UK, where landrover is seen as worlds best 4x4 on the planet, even thou Landrover owners spend more time under them then inside them..
Cheers
