Hello everyone, before I became a member I've got on this forum and it's help me out with a couple of things. I just acquired a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac 4x4 XLT trim. I really enjoy driving this truck but when I hit just over 80 miles per hour there is a vibration that occurs I hear that the fix is usually an aluminum drive shaft replacement does anybody have any info on this. Thanks in advance for any info it will be much appreciated

I have checked all the u-joints they are good. Thanks, I'm going to check the balance of the wheels next. Don't you think the vibration would occur before 80 or 85 mph if it was the balance of the wheels?

You could rotate the wheels to see if it makes a difference. Sometimes the issue could be related to a tire with a slightly shifted inner belt. You might not feel it until a certain speed.
