Hi Guys!
Currently own a 2007 Sport Trac Limited with 175,600 or so miles on it. Have had ‘91 Explorer, ‘98 Explorer, and picked this Sport Trac up in August, 2011, with a shade under 50,000 miles on it. Wasn’t really considering a Sport Trac at the time, but we got a GREAT DEAL on this one ($21,000), and it has, maybe for the first time in my 50+ years of car/truck-buying, turned out to be the BEST VEHICLE I’ve ever owned. EVER! Have had to replace the exhaust manifolds (first left bank, then right bank), the radiator (twice!), and the 4.6L DOHC engine (at 130,000 miles)... but I still love this truck!

It certainly makes those 1000-mile drives between Pittsburgh and Clearwater enjoyable! Plus, I tow a vintage MG race car with it, and the truck doesn’t even know the car/trailer is back there! I get about 14-16 mpg thru the hills of WVA-VA, but as soon as we hit the southern half of the trip, that mileage goes up to 16-18 mpg! Not many tow vehicles will reach that! Plus, not towing, we’ve gotten as high as 20.9 mpg!

The latest issue with the truck is an annoying whine, which I chalked up to the high mileage on the diffs, but which turns out to be that 2-piece driveshaft, and brother, are those things expensive! But, I’m headed south in a couple weeks, with a bunch of races planned in 2018... so it’s gotta get replaced!

Hoping I can contribute with some of what I’ve learned thru my 25+ years of Explorer ownership!
