Alright guys,
I just got the explorer back last night. There is one valve that is a stickin though. My mechanic thought it would be because the motor has been sitting for almost a year, and he thought as the motor oil would get hot it would prime it and get it to stop it. But no such luck. He told me to go to Napa (No Auto Parts Avaliable) tomorrow and pick up a bottle of this compound that lubes up the valves won't stick. If that doesn't do the trick we're going to crack it open and go through the valves. Which will be more money out of my pocket which I do not have. Any suggestions?
I have driven many explorers in my life time but even with the sticky valve mine could easily drop a few things at a stop light. It has more pick up than I ever would have thought it would have had. But my question is my new motor has RED fuel injectors. My other one had black. EVERY other explorer I have seen had black injectors. Why could that be? Do police packages have red injectors? The Guy I bought it from said the one he pulled it from had lights behind the grille and a cut out for a spot light.
All in all..the oil pressure is solid, the temp sits on damn near cold all the time (thanks to that 160 degree thermo). So I still can't complain because the motor was free.
Thanks!
