1998 Explorer XLT 2WD 5.0
:us: Just posting my first message here with the Explorer community. I have had my 1998 Explorer XLT since new, and think it is finally time to make some changes. Although not a 4x4 I would like to get it up off the ground a little. Is there a lift kit for my 4x2 that will allow me a noticeable size change in my tires? I'm new guys and gals so be nice, no jokes about the sad little 4x2. She does have a hot little 5.0 thanks to headers, exhaust upgrade, intake, and ignition. Any info you can offer would be awesome. Thanks

hi and welcome to the forum

Hi, welcome to the forums, about your 2WD do a search for a 3" lifted spindle

I would reccomend the spindle lift first, and if thats not enough, you can search for 3" BL for a 2nd Gen. You have to modify a ranger BL to make it work,

welcome aboard

If your just wanting to get a larger tire, search for Torson Twist and shakles.

Thanks for the info. I have located the spindles mentioned. If they are the ones you are talking about than they, like the BL, are for a Ranger? One more thing. Does anyone know anything, good/bad about the TransGo shift kit for my 1998 5.0 Automatic Explorer
