2007 XLT
Hello, I found this site by a Google search. I have a 2007 Explorer XLT purchased earlier this week as a Certified Pre Owned vehicle from my local Ford dealer. However, A couple of days later the ABS and Stability Control dash lights came on while driving and remained on. We took it back to the dealer yesterday and they replaced a "L/Rear Speed Sensor" as well as a Caliper Assembly. After driving it a few miles late yesterday, the lights came on again. However, after stopping the vehicle for awhile and then driving again for over 35 miles, the lights never came back on.

Has anyone else had this issue with 2007 (or newer) Explorers and if so, how was it fixed?

Seems to me that someone did have a similar problem with an 06' here recently. If I get a chance I will go through and try and find it. They resolved it and the problem was kinda weird.

Thanks Bill. The lights came on Friday afternoon after picking it up from the dealership for repairs to the lights. They stayed on for about 20 minuntes until I reached my destination and stopped the engine. After restarting a few minutes later, I drove another 30 minutes home without any issues. Also, no other issues until this morning when my wife started to work. They came on again for about 5 minutes then went off. This is really strange.

I believe this is caused by a cracked ABS sensor ring. I know that happened on a lot of 06's, if I can find the thread I will link it.

You are right. It was the sensor ring had a hairline crack. The dealership had to keep it overnight on Thursday and I picked it up yesterday, after driving a rental (which they furnished). So far, so good.
