I haven't heard anything about the new one, but my bro has 2 Pioneer amps in his car and has had no problems whatsoever.

I bought it, and i'm getting it installed to push my image dynamics in the q logic box this weekend. I like it due to the size, it fits perfectly to bolt right to the floor behind the passenger rear seat. A friend of mine has one pushing a pair of alpines and it works like a charm, make sure you have a good fuse though (battery) because he blew a few of his with that amp... It looks great... I'll let you know how it goes after the install... Putting in 40 sq feet of dynamat xtreme, the amp and the sub & box.. hope this helps somewhat!

Thanks for the info. I'm using it to power an mtx thunderform in the corner pocket. The amp will be behind the side panel.

that's cool, the only reason I am not choosing to install it behind that panel is incase I want to change some wiring around, or if I have a problem I have less reasons to pull off all of the panels again, just my thoughts...
