If i got a 2 inch suspension lift would i need new shocks? Right now i have trailmaster ssv shocks.

My 2" lift stressed my stock length Gabriels more than stock. They were still good with over 35k on the clock, but one was severely damaged while offroading in Moab. Now I have 2" longer Ranchos in front and 4" lift shocks in the rear.

So basically, you may stress the shocks and wear them out faster; but you'll definately limit your downtravel. With 2" of suspension lift, I'm almost positive your suspension can droop more than your shocks will allow. But, if you get longer shocks, make sure that your suspension can also compress fully. If your shocks limit compression instead of the bumpstops, you'll damage them that way, too. I had to extend my bumpstops in the rear to limit stress on the shocks.

So no, the last paragraph wasn't basically ;)

You need shocks that allow the suspension to compress fully while allowing the maximum possible droop.

Well I will be offroading in strictly mud so i should be fine right?
