Anyone else have this? I didn't notice this when picking the car up, as it was night time and dark, but theres a pretty large gap on the passenger side between the HVAC panel with all the buttons on it and the adjoining rubber trim that goes into the footwell. The gap is such that i can fit a coin in between it. Is this something you think the dealer can fix, or can i re-adjust it myself?

Welcome to the Forum.

Peter

I'll check mine out tomorrow but cant say I ever saw any alignment issues.

To me it looks like the center stack plastic should be under the side panels in the corner near the push button and not over it. That's what I feel make it looks like it is deformed.

That's just by looking at your pic, will be curious how mine lines up and will post a pic tomorrow.

I think that's normal. It's a cheap interior. There are gaps like that and poorly fitting parts all over the interior.

Mine definitely has it and I noticed it a few days after picking it up 3 months ago. I haven't asked them to fix it. I may do that when I get my first oil change at 3,000 miles.

Typical of all three I've driven, unfortunately.

Mine would bother me if I had to sit in the passenger seat but from the driver's seat it does not look bad.

Here are some random pics of my interior showing gaps, poorly fitting parts and generally super cheap interior that is more appropriate for a $25k car than one that is $50+k. None of which bothers me too much. It is what it is. And the reason the Explorer loses every comparo with the competition.

Here are mine
Curious. I noticed that both yours and Legacy's have the same slight 'whitish' discoloration to the left of the volume knob.

i am happy with mind, fit is good no gaps that look out of place. close up pictures do exaggerate some what in MOP

I've had mine 3 months and just noticed that there are ambient lights under the front seats that can be seen by second row passengers! I usually notice small details but somehow I missed this one!

Good to know mine isn't the only one. Everything else about the vehicle is great, hopefully they iron this out as production progresses. I'll probably check with my dealer to see if they'll do anything about it, otherwise fix it myself.
