Hi all,

I have an '02 EB and I was wondering if anyone could provide some good recommendations on a relatively inexpensive but good replacement for the factory 6-disc changer?

I love my 6-disc changer, but I'd love to be able to have an iPod input that i can control using the steering controls...if that isn't feasible, then anything with stereo inputs would be great, too.

I've seen some, but I really don't know what is good, so I'd love to hear what people have tried.

Thanks all!

i am a big fan of alpine head units. alpine sells ones that are ipod compatible in almost every price range. anywhere from $120 - over $2000. you are going to get more options with the better, more expensive head units, but if all you are really looking for is ipod control, almost any of them will work just fine. as far as steering wheel button control, you will need a separate to do that. it is going to be about an extra $50 give or take. there are many different head units out there now that control an ipod, and all of them have their goods and bads, but i have just had the best luck with alpine.

Thanks for your reply. I will check out their stock!

Search for stock integrated Ipod connectors.

I respectivly disagree. I steer away from alpine, while others love it. I like the pioneer(cheaper brand) and sonuy i think is really good. I love the sony xplod unit. Very nice. It also has the inputs for the ipod and outputs for the subs.

Sony's I've never liked, Panasonic is horrible, I bought a deck from them 8 months ago and it won't play cds anymore, i contacted them several times and never hear back. I've had good luck with Kenwood.

Alpine. Alpine's with the Dials (I wish I could afford one):fire::shoot:

alright, so far it sounds like someone has been happy with anything but the $75 walmart players? lol

Before you buy something new, pull your radio and see if any of the following are compatible:

i like kenwoods, it has ipod interference but i dont like that cause you cant use the ipod. so i hooked it up to the aux-in port in the back of the HU

Now that's funny!

Factory HUs are POS; you will be better served with an aftermarket unit.

Good luck ....

I never thought it would be put in such straight forward terms :D

Almost all of the aftermarket brands are good, but your speakers are important too - you got the factory paper speakers still? My older Pioneers were just replaced by new (brand x) speakers, and they bite

Also, it's important to know what your primary use will be... what type of music, how loud, bass, more treble, etc...
