Newbie from NY - key fob question

Hello! Glad I found this place. Just purchased my first Explorer (it's a 2013 XLT) and am sure I'll have some questions. Like this one... I don't have a key fob, I just have a key that actually has the buttons right on it. Can I still get a key fob (for the additional functions) and program it to my Explorer? Thanks in advance!

The one key fob that came with my 2010 explorer quit after a couple months so i bought the replacement fob at Amazon but i'm not sure if there is a replacement since yours has the key built in. Amazon cost 10.oo bucks for 2 so i have a spare. you might look there.
