Hey All,
I just bought a 1994 Aerostar last week. It was a Government vehical that only has 21,000 original miles! It is the 2wd versions with a 3.0L and the automatic transmission, (5 passenger.) It sat in eastern, WA most of its life in a parking lot. It has a few minor dents and the bumpers are pretty faded, but underneath, it looks pretty new!
It has a few minor problems, here’s what I've found so far:
1. There is a slight buzzing, or humming noise coming from behind or underneath the dash. It is most noticeable when I accelerate, or I am coming to a stop. This is hard to diagnose, since it only happens when the van is moving.
It definitely sounds electrical though. It happens whether the stereo is off or on.
2. Second, the cruise control doesn't work. I read the earlier post this week about the same problem with another member. I have no other problems too. Looked at the gas pedal and it looks like the lower cable maybe loose. Maybe it was disconnected?
3. I'm looking for a factory manual right now. A guy has one locally for a
"1993" both the chassis and drive train books for $25, will they work for my "1994"?
Thanks!
