I have a 97 Explorer 2wd. I have no reverse and no 3-4 shift. I've been reading threads about the 5R55E shifting issues so I'm trying to determine the best course of action without wasting too much or money.
The problem started with just a slip then a total loss. From what I've been reading the 3-4 shift is controlled by the direct clutch and intermediate band.
Anyone have this problem and solve it without a total rebuild?
