NO 4Wheel drive

i have an 02 explorer xls.the other day iwas driving it and i noticed 4 wheel wasnt work. I hit the button and put it into 4 high....nothang. Put it into for low...nothang, but it was in low gear just no front wheel spin. you can hear the shift motor working when you put it into 4 low, but not 4 high. anybody have any ideas as to why the front wheels arent spinning?

"Nothing" happens to the shift motor when you put the vehicle in 4HI because 4wd is engaged via an electromagnet in your vehicle.

I would advise you search and browse this sub-forum for a little bit -- the topic of "no 4wd" has come up quite often (especially with the passing of winter).
