94 XLT
Just purchased a 94 XLT for the wife a few weeks ago. It's in fair shape with 144K miles (mostly highway miles) on it. She said the cruise control worked when she first tried it, but now it does not. Fuses are good, vacuum hoses look ok. Is there any tests or things to check or look for. Where is the control module located.?

So far the only things I've touched was the fan belt, air filter and front shocks and brakes, so I don't think it ws me.

Everything else works and it's been well cared for. It has a new tranny and radiator (6 months old). Figured, I'll let the wife drive it till the engine starts complaining and then swap a rebuilt 4.0 in it.

Any thoughts or sugestions would be welcomed.

Thanks

Ben

check the switch under the dash...

FYI BenBacon:

I just replaced my master brake cylinder and booster, and didn't know about the cruise control switch under the dash, connected to the brake pedal. No mention in the Haynes manual. My fisrt car w/cruise control also.

Well, when I removed the brake rod from the pedal, I upset the sensor switch under the dash, right under the steering column. Needed to be set back in position. Cruise control died, until this was set back in position.

Don't know if this is your prob, but worth looking at!

Good Luck!
