I noticed a small cooling system leak the other day and found it was just hose. Today went to drive the X and no heat. I have the electronic HVAC system. Would the problem be that the X is low coolant? The drove it about three miles, but let it warm up for 10 min before driving it (cold weather 33) and the engine temp was fine.

Yes, probably low coolant

Maybe a stuck open T Stat?

My temp gauge is normal and goes to half way about 5-7 minutes into my drive. I turn the heat on and it is slightly warm. It takes about a 1/2 hour for the heater to be hot. Do i need to change the thermostat or is it a heater core problem. Thanks.

Could be either

low on coolant... just takes care of the engine, not sending any to the heating system. I had a problem with mine a few times but that was strictly related to cold... even after driving for 10-15 minutes heat would not come on untill I toyed with the temp setting, going up and down untill it turned on.
