My ex is having the opposite problem of the bad blower fan resistor. It has speeds 1-3 but don't work on high. I Tried a different switch, with no luck, and just for fun I pulled my resisor and checked for continuity of the terminals and it was good.

Anyone have any idea where the fan pulls power from on the high setting, or a wiring diagram showing the blower circut? Thanks

The blower positive side never changes. The resistor is on the negative side. I would connect the negative side of the blower directly to ground. If it doesn't work then it is likely a bad motor.

its not a resistor... there is no resistor in the circuit in high... its the high speed motor relay.

is this resistor located in the underhood fuse box? I looked at the diagram and all it showed for relays was the max AC.

Ditto... the high speed relay is sticking. Without knowing what year, make, and model you have, we can't really be much help on location.

Sorry, I guess it would be good to know what I'm asking questions about:confused:

Its a 97 4WD Sport. I fount the small block of relays mounted next to the airbox last night. Is it one of these?

Thanks for the help guys.

Got it working today. It was the relay located behind the right headlight next to the airbox.
