Greetings everyone. Got a 1995 EB 4.0L.

The rear console A/c is not working (front dash works perfectly with ice cold air). I can hear that the fan control does operate a blower somewhere but I get only very light air out the back - and not very cold, almost nothing to speak of. The control in back seems to be working the one that switches between air out the bottom and air out the top. It would appear that the air source is from the front under the dash and just comes through a duct below the console (someone please confirm) because apparently it wasn't until 96 that they put a blower under the console.
Anyway, what can I do to diagnose? Is there a diverter/door/flapper somewhere up front? vacuum line? Any help would be appreciated.

Spent most of the morning pulling apart the console to get at everything. I was wrong about the A/C. I do have a rear blower assembly. Took everything apart and found that the actuator motor that opens the flapper door has a broken gear. Assuming it just the little gear in the third pic, where can I pick that up or do I have to replace the whole actuator?

Pic 1: This is the door that wont open because of the actuator

Pic 2: Rear Actuator. Ford gave us a clue when they wrote POS on it. What a piece of s**t!

Pic 3: Rear Actuator open showing broken gear. Can I buy just this gear someplace?

Got replacement part this morning from local dealer. $61.50 plus tax. Now gotta put everthing back together...

Damn that's expensive! At least they still had some in stock, though...

Yeah, I agree. Could have gone through ebay and got something used or the whole blower + door + actuator assembly for the same price. This way I figure I get a new part with a short warranty. At least I did the labor myself and come out the end with a working system without paying the dealer many hundreds of dollars.

The dealer had the part delivered so probably they marked it up a little for shipping? Same thing for a body part for my Mustang. There must be some regional warehouse for parts that they can get shipped to them within a day or two.

Yeah, probably. At least I learned something new (I didnt know there was an actuator etc for the rear vents...
