The truck is a 98 for explore four-wheel drive automatic transmission, 160,000 miles, I've changed the transmission fluid about every 20,000 miles, the transmission drives and shifts flawlessly with the exception of reverse. I parked the truck came out the next morning put the explore into reverse absolutely nothing?????? I pushed it out of my driveway, once on the open road the truck runs flawlessly, all gears were fine with very firm shifts. The only problem is the reverse, there was absolutely no warning signs. How is reverse controlled in this transmission? Is it through a electrical controlled or is it a mechanical link. I am familiar with the A4LD from earlier model explores. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
