The other day i lost reverse, but all my forward gears work fine.
I had it checked out at a ford dealer, they said it was the "reverse/low band"
and wanted to charge me $1400.
I still wasnt convinced so i took it to another ford dealer, which seemed to be a bit more diagnostic and informative, like saying if it was your reverse band
it would not drive in (manual) 1st gear or have engine braking. which it does still have, their diagnosis was they thought it was a seal gone in the reverse servo piston. But after reading various posts on this site, ive learnt that if this was the case it would not engage in (manual) 1st gear. so therefore it is not the reverse servo piston. Which leads me to the reverse mod valve. I guess my question is , how likely is this , how much does it cost to replace and who long would it take a dealer mechanic to do the job.
All help greatly app.
