I'm new to this...I lost sound from my radio...the panel shows good signal strength and all....the sound sometimes comes on, then goes out...so I installed a new radio (upgrade with a CD)...but still the same problem...no sound...the connections on the radio are good....does the speaker harness go directly to the speakers?...or is there an intermedate tie point somewhere?

Amp

Depending on the original radio that was installed you may have a secondary amp to power your speakers. The amp is located behind one of the interior panels in the back above the wheelwell, I want to say its on the driver side but I'm sure someone will chime in and correct me if I'm wrong. I have seen these die before but the way you are describing it as intermittent maybe you just have a bad connection at the amp or bad ground.

The amp is behind the interior trim panel, above the passenger side wheel well in the back.

Thanks for the correction, now that you say that I can see it in my head again which that makes sense because if you have the subwoofer its on that side as well.

the amp is over the driver side rear wheel...where exactly would I check the ground connection?...can I just ground the black lead from the back of the radio?...thanks to all for the help....
