I've tried searching for a similar experience on my 5.0 98 Ex. on this board with no luck...so here is my question:

When the temperatures get to about 90+ I get a muffled knocking noise and a slight muffled knocking feeling on the steering wheel when I slow down to a stop or go over speed bumps.

I had this problem last summer and ended up replacing the front shocks and the lower ball joints. The noise went away, but it was the end of the summer and I can't remember if temps were above 90 then. Any suggestions on areas to check out for the possible culprit? The noise goes away when temps go back down.

Chris
