Number 3 Cylinder misfire - no compression. Returning home after a 60 miles trip the Explorer 2005 started to splutter badly especially at low speeds. Showed it to the Mechanic next day who read the codes:
P0303 #3 misfire - 0 Compression
P0303 Engine misfire detected
P0442 Evap Leak
P0463 Fuel level sensor highp0581 cruise control
P0106 Map
P0128 T-start

Called the used engine company. They would replace the engine with a used engine with 3 year warranty and including labor $6000C$

Shocking to have an engine failure/#3Cylinder failure on EX that has done only 110,000 miles. Never though a Ford engine would fail, this being my 4th ford vehicle.

Anyway, rather than replace with a used engine for $6,000C$, going to get a 2016/2017/2018 used Explorer.

Any thoughts or views would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Take it to a garage who can do a cylinder leakage test on #3. That will tell you more then a compression test. A cam follower could have gone bad, burnt valve, bad camshaft
