55 mph, in 5th. gear, TCC engaged, tach rock-steady. At cruise, feels like driving on a road having light rills, like a washboard. Very light added throttle worsens feeling. First thought, slipping TCC; tach would show that.
Depress O/D OFF, goes down into 4th. gear smoothly, everything smooths out. Depress again, tach drops back down, rock-steady, shakes immediately return.
Servo failing? Repair kits seem to feature a bushing which fits the case after reaming to larger diameter. This suggests oil pressure RELEASES the band, apply is by spring on outside of piston. Bushing guides piston rod. Would this be correct?
Another question: at cruise, does depressing O/D OFF affect TCC if throttle is held steady? After submitting this, I'll look for codes. Can't say yet whether CEL was turned on by today's episode because it's already ON due to persistent O2 Heater Code unresolved. Any help appreciated! imp
