I have a 98 Explorer 2dr Sport 2wd 6 cyl pushrod, 5speed AT. It wanders into 5th gear (I assume OD) at will when OD is Off. No CEL and no flashing OD Light. I read that the OSS sensor could be a problem or maybe a worn gear inside the tranny could be the problem, except that it should throwing a code and the OD Light should be flashing. Not happening. Tranny seems to shift ok through the gears at about 3000 RPM except for the last gear which it shouldn't be shifting into at all. Any ideas what's going on with this?
