2021 Ford Explorer XLT
Just received Ford OEM All Weather Mats for my 2021 XLT. Noticed there's a clip hole on the passenger mat but no clip in the carpet. Do you all have a clip on your passenger side?

I do on my 2020 Explorer LTD.

Bizarre. I guess only some models do so they just have the holes in case.
I can't say that isn't so but that doesn't really make sense. I can't believe that there are different carpets made for different trims. Not very cost effective. My Aviator has 2 fasteners on both the driver's and passenger's side.

There is no clip hole on my passenger Ford OEM All Weather Mats on my Platinum build date early September 2021. I ordered these on the original factory for the vehicle which was placed March 2021. Yes that was a 6 month wait.

Wow that’s nuts.

Talked to the parts center. They said for some reason some Explorers built during certain time period don’t have clips on passenger.

Here’s part number for mats with no clip hole on passenger for future references.

Mine has the post in center rear of the mat.

I think the passenger mat post may be there if the vehicle was ordered from the factory with the all weather mats. My XLT was ordered with the mats and it has the passenger post for the mat.
Yeah that’s probably what it is.

My Aviator was bought (leased) off the lot and did not have the all-weather mats, just the carpeted ones. I had the dealer swap them out for the all-weather ones at no cost to me. I see that the fasteners are different in the 2 vehicles after reading Mike's post. Mine have two fasteners for the driver's and passenger's sides while it seems the Explorer only has one.

Well, that theory's busted. I just looked at the carpeted mats I removed from mine: The driver's side has the two holes, the passenger side has one.

Haha!! Yup I’m sure there’s 0 logic behind that whole thing.
