Well folks, three weeks and counting. On 17/7/04, my 2003 V8 Ford Explorer and I will be leaving for 3 and a half weeks of fun and games, crossing the Simpson desert in the middle of Australia. I have fitted the following extras to my vehicle.
- a dual battery system to run a fridge and other auxilary outlets;
- a long range fuel tank (giving me 200L in total);
- a set of draws;
- a cargo barrier;
- many other bits and pieces to make off roading easier and safer.
We will be out of range of fuel stations for up to 3-4 days and will be covering a lot of ground, hence the long range fuel tank and the need for a second battery.
I will email some photos through of the big red beast climbing the lovely red dunes through the desert.
Regards
Louise.
