I don't think an EMP would do much good in machine city. For one it would only knock out everything electrical within a certain range. Then if by chance the EMP (by a domino effect) destroys/shuts down all the machines then all the humans plugged into them would die shortly there after.

But it was the EMP from Niobe's ship that they DID use to defeat that first wave of machines. Also, no one was plugged into the Matrix at that time so that wouln't be an issue I think.

It was just funny... if the EMP from the ship did that much damage why not one in the city?

I dont believe they used the EMP from Niobe's ship... Neo used his "powers" to defeat the first wave of machines.

I think what he meant by those plugged into the matrix was all humans currenty plugged into the matrix at that location.

And its already finished off my last brain cells lol

I thought he was talking about the fight at Zion... my bad... he said machine city. Yeah, Neo was doing some damage there. And in that case, yes... the EMP may have been a bad idea.
